Lungs at Altitude
High Altitude Pulmonary Oedema is a rare condition which causes the lungs to slowly fill with fluid whilst ascending above 2,400m. After personally suffering from it during 2008, I was fascinated by lung capacity and documented my own lungs' capacity via 'blow paintings' which were then screenprinted. Each new layer of ink marks a higher altitude, with the colours referenced from the colour of blood through the relevant levels of oxygenation.
